Taitung has been promoting slow food movement since 2012, with the concepts of “farm-to-table” and “savor local and seasonal food”.
During Taitung's Slow Food festival, held once a season, local stores offer delicious cuisines with ingredients from the mountains and sea of eastern Taiwan. The unique flavors of local seasonal ingredients are presented with various cooking methods, where the public can enjoy delicacies nourished by Taitung customs and culture.
Special ingredients such as sweet and sour roselle, red quinoa with an indigenous flavor, and Chenggong's fresh and sweet sailfish represent the diversity of Taitung cuisine.
